Forget everything you think you know about gin’s past and discover our newly bestowed Sipsmith Origin 1639 gin. This devilishly delicious blend revives a 17th-century recipe, offering a fresh twist on a classic spirit.

You might say, we’re taking it back to how it was gin-tended.

Inspired by the very recipe that sparked modern gin, tucked away in the 1639 standards manual of the Worshipful Company of Distillers of London – The Distiller of London. It’s juniper-forward and bursting with berries, just like they made it in the 17th century.

Embracing our tradition of innovation, we’ve recreated this ancient recipe with a unique approach. We start with a new make spirit, typically used in whisky, which lends a rich, buttery mouthfeel. The juniper heart remains the star of the show but we’ve elevated the flavour with the addition of ripe raspberries and strawberries. After resting in oak barrels and chill filtering, the result is a gin that’s as complex as it is smooth.

Origin 1639 Gin is a perfect blend of classic juniper, vibrant citrus, and a spicy backbone. With its rich berry notes and unique character, it shines on the rocks, in a classic Gin Rickey, or an Old Fashioned garnished with candied ginger.
